FREELANCE JOURNALIST, PHOTOGRAPHER, Cultural Analyst & Art Critic

Hi, I’m Jigyasa Singh, I am based in London and currently pursuing an MSc in Media and Communication at Brunel University London, alongside an NCTJ Diploma. I work part-time with Hillingdon Herald and Hillingdon Vision, gaining valuable hands-on experience in media and journalism. Additionally, I am an aspiring photographer, currently under training and honing my skills to expand my creative portfolio.

As an aspiring journalist, I critique and analyze filmmaking, music, art, literature, fashion, and internet subculture through the lenses of psychology and philosophy. My aim is to uncover deeper insights and spark thoughtful discussions, bringing a unique perspective to the intersection of culture, society, and media. I’m actively seeking opportunities in media, print, and journalism to further develop my career and contribute to the ever-evolving media landscape.

Had the pleasure of covering the lovely Ruislip Central Horticultural Society’s Autumn Flower Show 2025 on Sunday, 14th September. I was honored to interview His Worshipful Mayor of Hillingdon, Philip Corthorne, who shared insightful thoughts on the significance of community and how events like these truly bring people together.

Had the pleasure of meeting MP Danny Beales at the Mayor’s Picnic! We had a wonderful conversation about Hillingdon and its warm, vibrant community.

Had a wonderful opportunity to interview Cllr Steve Tuckwell, former MP of Uxbridge, about the Uxbridge Redevelopment Plan.

We walked through Uxbridge High Street as he calmly shared the council’s vision for the area and spoke fondly about his deep-rooted connection to his hometown.

The Hillingdon Herald team had a productive meeting with Lord John Randall, former MP for Uxbridge, where we discussed the challenges people with disabilities face in accessing public transport.

Free Speech: No Ifs or Buts, directed by Ceri Dingle, is a powerful short film I had the opportunity to work on as part of WORLDwrite’s Freedom Film Project.

As a team, we hit the streets of Hackney, Epping, and Kent to speak with members of the public and friends of the charity, exploring a question that’s more relevant than ever:

I’ve worked on a variety of journalistic projects, including investigative reporting, feature stories, and live event coverage. My work spans both local and broader topics, focusing on human interest, politics, and community issues. I also write opinion pieces and contribute to digital content for various platforms.

I write for both! I have experience writing for both digital platforms and traditional print media. Depending on the project, I can adapt to the style and structure that best suits the platform.
